Juan Galaz vs Neper Fortes

Boxing Daily Report from the Agbeko Promotions promoted show at Felippe Nuncio Gym, Belo Horizonte,  taking place on 23/02/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Galaz (15(8) - 1) who hails from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Neper Fortes(1 - 4 - 3) from Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Galaz weighed in at 115 pounds, while Fortes weighed in at 114 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Juan Mendosa, and the three ringside judges are Carlos Recio, Juan Mendosa and Santiago Ferra.  

Round 1: 

Galaz pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.

Galaz gets on the inside and forces Fortes to back into a corner.  Galaz drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  Galaz ties up his opponent.  Galaz leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Fortes attempts to land a cross, but Galaz parries the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Galaz is looking to close the distance.  Fortes throws a right hook, but Galaz holds on to his opponent.  Galaz is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Fortes attempts to land a left hook, but Galaz blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut to Fortes's liver.  
Galaz pivots to the side of his opponent.  Fortes throws a right hook, but Galaz clinches his opponent.  Fortes pushes his forearm into Galaz's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Fortes.  
Galaz lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Galaz lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Galaz lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Fortes attempts to land a left hook, but Galaz dodges the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fortes's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work. Galaz lands two left hook's to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Fortes pivots to the left of his opponent.  Fortes throws a left uppercut, but Galaz clinches his opponent.  Galaz leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Galaz's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Galaz lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Galaz gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Galaz is on target with a left uppercut to Fortes's body.

Fortes is looking to close the distance.  Galaz digs in a telling right hook to Fortes's ribcage.  IT LOOKS LIKE FORTES WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Fortes quickly recovers.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Fortes dabs at his face checking for damage.  Fortes has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

Galaz gets on the inside and connects with a FIERCE left hook.  DOWN GOES FORTES!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Fortes gets on the inside.  Galaz drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Galaz attempts to land a left hook, but Fortes blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Galaz walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Galaz digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Galaz walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Galaz lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND DOWN GOES FORTES!  The count reaches 10, but Fortes is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Galaz!
