Fred Baines vs Charles Mears

Boxing Daily Report from the K Promotions promoted show at Peterborough Damon, Peterborough,  taking place on 06/03/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the British Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport UK, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fred Baines (17 - 10(3) - 1) who hails from Sheffield, UK and Charles No Tears Mears(19(2) - 0) from Coventry, UK.  Both Baines and Mears weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jonathan Dunn, and the three ringside judges are Brian Hall, Euan Culbertson and Mark Querry.  

Round 1: 

Baines is looking to close the distance.  Mears throws a left uppercut, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Mears clinches his opponent.  Mears is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.
