Chigozie Offoin vs Mike Iheruome

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Kano State promoted show at Kano Nwoke, Kano,  taking place on 16/03/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria-Kano State Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chigozie Offoin (11 - 8 - 3) who hails from Kano, Nigeria and Mike Iheruome(6 - 7 - 2) from Kano, Nigeria.  Offoin weighed in at 154 pounds, while Iheruome weighed in at 153 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Hope Ukuh, and the three ringside judges are Jay-Jay Ukaegbu, Ollie Mbachu and Gbolahan Adenaike.  

Round 1: 

Offoin is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Iheruome throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Iheruome quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Offoin dabs at his face checking for damage.  Offoin has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Offoin's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Offoin's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
