Oliver Mermoz vs Euan Mearns

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Varsity Arena, Toronto,  taking place on 18/03/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Oliver Mermoz (4(2) - 0) who hails from Paris, France and Euan Mearns(9 - 10(1) - 2) from Ottawa, Canada.  Both Mermoz and Mearns weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leo Gaddie, and the three ringside judges are Mark Weatherley, Ian Dashiell and Mark Mowat.  

Round 1: 

Mermoz steps to the outside and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mermoz lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mermoz is on target with a CRUSHING cross.  MEARNS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Mearns almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mermoz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands with a stinging jab.  
Mermoz switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mermoz lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mermoz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mearns lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mermoz tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Mermoz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a stinging jab.  
Mermoz tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Mermoz switches the action to the outside and lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Mermoz feints a right hook, and then connects with a cross.  
Mermoz lands with a spiteful jab.

Mearns closes the distance and throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mermoz holds on to his opponent.  Mearns leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mearns's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Mearns's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Mearns's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Mermoz pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a powerful cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE MEARNS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mearns recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Mermoz steps to the outside.  Some sustained pressure from Mermoz could be enough to finish Mearns!  Mermoz SLAMS a spiteful left uppercut into his opponents face.  MEARNS HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Mermoz!
