Ovidio Alvizo vs Greg Rusk

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-New Jersey promoted show at Gyimah Gym, Paterson,  taking place on 16/04/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the USA-New Jersey Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ovidio Alvizo (24(2) - 3(1)) who hails from Newark, USA and Greg Rusk(6 - 9 - 3) from Newark, USA.  Both Alvizo and Rusk weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mike Allender, and the three ringside judges are Jacob Quigley, Peter Whitten and Justin Lloyd.  

Round 1: 

Alvizo voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Rusk is whaling away with hooks, but Alvizo keeps his defence tight.  
Alvizo steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Alvizo lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Alvizo drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Alvizo steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Alvizo gets on the inside.  Rusk pivots from in front of his opponent.  Alvizo lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Rusk steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a jab, but Alvizo slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Alvizo is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Alvizo lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Alvizo lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Rusk tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land an overhand right, but Alvizo sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

Alvizo steps inside.  Alvizo digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Rusk wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Alvizo.  That has caused bad swelling  around the left eye.  
Rusk pivots to the side of his opponent.  Alvizo digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Alvizo advances into close range and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Rusk's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Alvizo drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribcage.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Rusk dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rusk steps away from his opponent and is on target with a sharp jab.  
Alvizo is on target with a left uppercut to Rusk's liver.  
Alvizo lands a sharp jab.  
Rusk pivots to the left of his opponent.  Alvizo is on target with a jab.  
Alvizo drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
Alvizo closes the distance.  Rusk sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Alvizo lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Rusk.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.

Alvizo lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Rusk almost instantly recovers. 
Rusk tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
