Daniel McIver vs Lloyd Cody

Boxing Daily Report from the Rico Boxing Promotions promoted show at Max Ekman Gym, Columbus,  taking place on 18/03/2028:

Clearly Rico Boxing Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Ohio Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Daniel McIver (12 - 0) who hails from Columbus, USA and Lloyd Cody(7 - 14) from Columbus, USA.  Both McIver and Cody weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Phil Hines, and the three ringside judges are Kenzie Schatte, James Osmundsen and Wayne Cleary.  

Round 1: 

McIver pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Cody closes the distance and attempts to land a left hook, but McIver sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Cody forces McIver to back into the ropes.  McIver is on target with a right hook to Cody's ribcage.  
Cody attempts to land a left hook, but McIver blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

McIver is looking to close the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cody dabs at his face checking for damage.  
McIver sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a sharp right hook into Cody's body.
