Grigor á Burkov vs Aleksandr Basak

Boxing Daily Report from the Bulgarian Boxing promoted show at Vladislav Arena, Varna,  taking place on 18/04/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Grigor á Burkov (8(5) - 0) who hails from Plovdiv, Bulgaria and Aleksandr Basak(7 - 15 - 2) from Odessa, Ukraine.  Both Burkov and Basak weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Bozhidar á Yordanyotov, and the three ringside judges are Tsvetan á Savinov, Sergey á Paisev and Yavor á Levski.  

Round 1:

Burkov lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  He continues the combination and lands an overhand right followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Burkov is looking to keep his distance and snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Basak advances into close range.  Burkov lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Burkov steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Basak forces Burkov to back into the ropes.  Burkov is on target with a right uppercut to Basak's body.

Basak advances into close range and walks Burkov down, trapping him on the ropes.  Burkov lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Burkov tries to keep the action at long range.  Burkov sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Burkov tries to land a jab, but Basak sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Burkov tries to step out of his opponents range.  Burkov feints a jab, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Basak is looking to close the distance.  Burkov is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Burkov lands a spiteful cross.  DOWN GOES BASAK!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Basak has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Basak steps inside and manouvers Burkov onto the ropes.  Basak throws a left hook, but Burkov ties up his opponent.  Basak is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Basak to stop fouling.  
Burkov switches the action to the outside and snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Basak's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Basak's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Burkov feints a jab and triggers a left uppercut counter from Basak.  Burkov springs the trap, countering with  a solid left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Burkov lands a straight 1 - 2.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Basak recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
