John Kones vs Lavaughn Angwenyi

Boxing Daily Report from the Ndovi Promotions promoted show at Nairobi Ngoche, Nairobi,  taking place on 23/04/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya-Nairobi Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Kones (10 - 9(2) - 3) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Lavaughn Angwenyi(14 - 4) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Kones weighed in at 153 pounds and 5 ounces, while Angwenyi weighed in at 153 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Lee Rebelo, and the three ringside judges are Elliot Lumumba, Noah Odoyo and Joe Mwirichia.  

Round 1: 

Kones steps inside.  Angwenyi lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Angwenyi ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Angwenyi pushes his forearm into Kones's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kones steps away from his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Angwenyi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kones connects with a cross.  
Kones lands a cross.  
Angwenyi pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.
