Chris Gerrie vs Brad Edington

Boxing Daily Report from the T5 Promotions promoted show at Ian Simrell Gym, Auckland,  taking place on 27/05/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Chris Gerrie (6 - 4 - 3) who hails from Waitakere, New Zealand and Brad Edington(8 - 3) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Gerrie weighed in at 105 pounds, while Edington weighed in at 104 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ellis Raharuhi, and the three ringside judges are Robert Haturini, Henry Ngahoro and Colin Lawder.  

Round 1: 

Edington gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Edington lands a right hook.  Edington holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Edington pushes his forearm into Gerrie's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Edington.

As Gerrie tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Edington.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
