Connor Day vs Louis Curran

Boxing Daily Report from the Nkansah Promotions promoted show at Kansas City Collin, Kansas City,  taking place on 02/05/2028:

Clearly Nkansah Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Missouri Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Connor Day (7 - 11(1) - 3) who hails from Independence, USA and Louis Curran(9 - 17 - 4) from Kansas City, USA.  Both Day and Curran weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lucas Geddie, and the three ringside judges are Phil Ekberg, Dom Quinn and Dave Sullivan.  

Round 1: 

Day switches the action to the outside.  Curran sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Day drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Curran tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Day attempts to land a jab, but Curran blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Day hits home with a cross.  
Curran sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Day lands an overhand left.  
Curran closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Day is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Day throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Day drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.  
Day tries to step out of his opponents range.  Curran sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Day lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Day.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
