Joey Govan vs Chris Purvis

Boxing Daily Report from the Serero Promotions promoted show at Midnite Rodeo, Charlotte,  taking place on 02/06/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-North Carolina Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Govan (13 - 9(1) - 3) who hails from Charlotte, USA and Chris Purvis(15(1) - 2 - 1) from Durham, USA.  Both Govan and Purvis weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dan Creelman, and the three ringside judges are Jack Cameron, John MacNaughton and Mark Baxa.  

Round 1: 

Purvis advances into close range and lands a solid right hook.  
Govan tries to keep the action at long range.  Govan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Purvis lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Purvis lands with a stinging jab.  
Govan steps to the outside and tries to land an overhand right, but Purvis sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.
