Oliver Mermoz vs Rex Catherwood

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at New City Gas, Montreal,  taking place on 29/07/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Oliver Mermoz (7(5) - 0) who hails from Paris, France and Rex Catherwood(15 - 10(1) - 2) from Richmond, Canada.  Both Mermoz and Catherwood weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Elliot Girardot, and the three ringside judges are Paul Coupland, Brendan Aitken and Channing Lippmann.  

Round 1:

Round 2: 

Mermoz lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Catherwood almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mermoz slams a hurtful right hook into Catherwood's ribcage.  IT LOOKS LIKE CATHERWOOD WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mermoz tries to land a jab, but Catherwood blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  Catherwood almost instantly recovers. 
Mermoz is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a spiteful jab.  
Mermoz is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Catherwood throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.

Catherwood could be stopped here, if Mermoz can find the right shot!  Mermoz lands a left hook, cross and a right hook to his opponents head, AND DROPS CATHERWOOD!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Mermoz!
