Evan Connell vs Marcus Brunton

Boxing Daily Report from the tG promoted show at James Flanagan Gym, Brighton and Hove,  taking place on 06/07/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Evan Connell (0 - 0) who hails from Belfast, UK and Marcus Brunton(0 - 2 - 1) from Warrington, UK.  Connell weighed in at 135 pounds, while Brunton weighed in at 134 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Vincent Floyd, and the three ringside judges are Richie Harp, Bob Noon and Eddie Cour.  

Round 1: 

Connell closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.  
Connell pivots to the side of his opponent.  Connell throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Connell steps inside.  Connell sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  Brunton wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Connell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Brunton quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Connell finds the target with a jab.  
Connell lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Connell gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Connell ties up his opponent.  Brunton tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Connell's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Brunton.  
Connell drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Brunton pivots to the side of his opponent.  Connell connects with a left hook.  
Brunton attempts to land a cross, but Connell sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Connell is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Brunton pivots to the right of his opponent.  Connell lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Brunton tries to step out of his opponents range.  Connell lands a jab.  
Connell digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Connell closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Brunton throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook to Brunton's ribcage.  
Connell gets on the inside.  Connell quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Connell is on target with a sharp left hook to Brunton's liver.  Connell clinches his opponent.  Connell is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Brunton switches the action to the outside.  Connell lands with a stiff jab.  
Connell walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Connell lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Connell is on target with a left hook to Brunton's body.  Connell throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Connell pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Brunton's body.  
Connell throws a right hook, but is not on target.  Connell ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Connell's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Connell lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  As Brunton tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Connell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Brunton's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Brunton's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Brunton's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Connell connects with a left hook.  Connell holds on to his opponent.  Connell tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Brunton behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Connell to stop fouling.
