Alastair Lesley vs Robert Gorey

Boxing Daily Report from the Slick Rick Promotions promoted show at Auckland Loar, Auckland,  taking place on 24/07/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alastair Lesley (21(2) - 5(2)) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Robert Gorey(15 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Lesley weighed in at 233 pounds And 1 ounces, while Gorey weighed in at 253 pounds And 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Henry Edmonston, and the three ringside judges are Corey Hopper, Robert Smillie and Henry Ngahoro.  

Round 1: 

Lesley forces Gorey to back into a corner.  Lesley quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Gorey's body.  
Lesley pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Gorey attempts to land a cross, but Lesley dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Lesley gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Lesley lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gorey pivots to the right of his opponent.  Lesley is on target with a left hook to Gorey's body.  
Gorey steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Lesley slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lesley is looking to close the distance.  Lesley voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Gorey accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Lesley.  
Lesley lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Lesley hits home with a left hook.  
Lesley gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Gorey switches the action to the outside and tries to land a cross, but Lesley sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Lesley steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Lesley drives a left uppercut into Gorey's ribs.  
Lesley lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gorey's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Gorey's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Gorey's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
