Michael Nieves vs Leighton Atkins

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Civic Auditorium, San Jose,  taking place on 30/08/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Michael Nieves (21(11) - 1) who hails from Long Beach, USA and Leighton Atkins(16 - 6(3)) from Memphis, USA.  Nieves weighed in at 153 pounds and 14 ounces, while Atkins weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Cris Garcia, and the three ringside judges are Charlie Valdivia, Ben Banos and Noel Spencer.
