Marjun Cumba vs Hernan Tubig

Boxing Daily Report from the ADR Boxing promoted show at Riza Memorial Stadium, Manila,  taking place on 08/09/2028:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Philippines Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Marjun Cumba (12(5) - 1) who hails from Bacoor, Philippines and Hernan Tubig(15(1) - 8(4)) from Cainta, Philippines.  Both Cumba and Tubig weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Neron Calibugan, and the three ringside judges are Paul Magpale, Beltran Macorol and Cuba Valdes.  

Round 1: 

Tubig advances into close range.  Cumba tries to land a left hook, but Tubig slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Cumba steps away from his opponent and snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Tubig gets on the inside.  Cumba throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Tubig walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cumba throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Tubig to the neutral corner.  He warns Cumba that he could be heading for a point deduction.  
Cumba lands a stinging left hook.  
Cumba lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Tubig is looking to close the distance.  Cumba lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cumba is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a solid cross.  
Tubig lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Tubig gets on the inside.  Tubig sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Cumba lands a stinging cross.  
Cumba is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Tubig walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Tubig is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Cumba is on target with a right hook.  
Tubig lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Tubig stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Cumba hits home with a solid cross.  
Cumba lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Tubig closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Tubig manouvers Cumba onto the ropes.  Tubig lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Cumba lands a firm left hook.  
Tubig tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Cumba connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cumba's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Tubig's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Cumba is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land a cross, but Tubig slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Tubig steps inside.  Cumba lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Cumba attempts to land a left hook, but Tubig slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cumba is looking to keep his distance.  Tubig attempts to land a cross, but Cumba blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Tubig steps inside.  Cumba connects with a solid left hook.  
Tubig is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
