Chris Maguire vs Ken McDonald

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Copper Box Arena, London,  taking place on 19/08/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the British-Southern England Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Maguire (13(3) - 1) who hails from Bristol, UK and Ken McDonald(16 - 7(1) - 3) from London, UK.  Both Maguire and McDonald weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Justin Dalton, and the three ringside judges are Ali Parsa, Harry Mullins and Paul Patterson.  

Round 1: 

Maguire digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maguire tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab.  
McDonald steps inside.  Maguire quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.

Maguire leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Maguire pushes his forearm into McDonald's face.  The referee warns Maguire and breaks the clinch.

McDonald advances into close range.  Maguire throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Maguire clinches his opponent.  McDonald is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McDonald forces Maguire to retreat onto the ropes.  Maguire lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Maguire attempts to land a cross, but McDonald slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Maguire lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McDonald cuts off the ring, trapping Maguire on the ropes.  McDonald sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maguire lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Maguire lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Maguire steps inside.  As McDonald tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maguire dabs at his face checking for damage.

McDonald pivots to the right of his opponent.  Maguire connects with a left hook.  
Maguire sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab.  
McDonald attempts to land a cross, but Maguire blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McDonald's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

McDonald steps inside.  Maguire quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Maguire lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Maguire clinches his opponent.  Maguire leans on his opponent using all his weight. Maguire tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McDonald behind the head.
