Paul Lockey vs Duncan McCaig

Boxing Daily Report from the tG promoted show at Jordan Henricks Gym, Brighton and Hove,  taking place on 24/07/2028:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Paul Lockey (0 - 0) who hails from Brighton and Hove, UK and Duncan McCaig(0 - 1) from Gloucester, UK.  Both Lockey and McCaig weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Killough, and the three ringside judges are Bob Slatter, Mark Rhind and Gavin McAffee.  

Round 1: 

McCaig is looking to keep his distance.  McCaig sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Lockey is on target with a cross.  
McCaig pivots to the left of his opponent.  Lockey lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Lockey throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lockey closes the distance.  Lockey lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Lockey holds on to his opponent.  Lockey leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Lockey pushes his forearm into McCaig's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  McCaig wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lockey dabs at his face checking for damage.  
McCaig switches the action to the outside.  Lockey feints a jab, tricking McCaig into throwing a right hook counter.  Lockey avoids the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Lockey lands a cross.  
Lockey switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Lockey steps inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Lockey closes the distance.  Lockey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Lockey advances into close range and connects with a left hook.  
Lockey lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Lockey holds on to his opponent.  Lockey pushes his forearm into McCaig's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lockey to stop fouling.  
Lockey lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Lockey forces McCaig to back into the ropes.  Lockey lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Lockey lands a left hook.  
Lockey drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  McCaig attempts to land a jab, but Lockey slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Lockey closes the distance.  Lockey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lockey connects with a left hook.  Lockey holds on to his opponent.  Lockey is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lockey steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  McCaig accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Lockey.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCaig's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McCaig's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  McCaig's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McCaig lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Lockey is on target with a cross.  
Lockey gets on the inside and digs in a left uppercut to McCaig's ribs.  
McCaig sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Lockey drives a stiff jab into his opponents face.  
Lockey lands a cross.  
Lockey goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores McCaig's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Lockey steps to the outside.  McCaig quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lockey connects with an overhand left.  
Lockey closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Lockey lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Lockey's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.  McCaig's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
