Vermont Fontaine vs Roy Ionesco

Boxing Daily Report from the African Fusion promoted show at Palais de la Culture Anoumabo Hall, Abidjan,  taking place on 26/08/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Ivory Coast Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Vermont Fontaine (23(8) - 8(6)) who hails from Bouake, Ivory Coast and Roy Ionesco(15 - 3) from Bouake, Ivory Coast.  Both Fontaine and Ionesco weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Antoine Deneuve, and the three ringside judges are Prewitt Oriol, Odo Larbaud and Laurent Barse.  

Round 1: 

Ionesco steps inside and connects with a left hook.  Fontaine clinches his opponent.  Ionesco is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ionesco walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ionesco digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Ionesco tries to land a right hook, but Fontaine sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.

Fontaine clinches his opponent.  Fontaine pushes his forearm into Ionesco's face.  The referee warns Fontaine and breaks the clinch.

Fontaine uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Ionesco's kidney. As they grapple, Ionesco pushes his forearm into Fontaine's face.  The ref breaks Fontaine's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  As Fontaine tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ionesco dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Fontaine steps to the outside and lands a stiff jab.  
Ionesco throws a left hook, but Fontaine ties up his opponent.  Ionesco pushes his forearm into Fontaine's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
