Mel Lewis vs John Monce

Boxing Daily Report from the Mandale Boxing Promotions promoted show at Dom Kennedy Gym, Melbourne,  taking place on 12/09/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mel Lewis (9 - 4) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and John Monce(7 - 11 - 3) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Lewis and Monce weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aaron Hadjinyan, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Munhall, Andy Wright and Alec Saghatelian.  

Round 1: 

Monce steps inside.  Lewis connects with a left uppercut.  
Lewis steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Monce dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Lewis finds the target with a jab.  
Lewis switches the action to the outside.  Lewis sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.
