Gus Cooney vs Alan Burns

Boxing Daily Report from the Louie Lefevre promoted show at Midland Hotel, Manchester,  taking place on 01/09/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Gus Cooney (1 - 0) who hails from Manchester, UK and Alan Burns(0 - 1 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Cooney and Burns weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Louis Atkins, and the three ringside judges are Bart McPhee, Robert Goff and Wayne Latham.  

Round 1: 

Cooney hits home with a left hook.  As Cooney tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Burns dabs at his face checking for damage.

Burns throws a right uppercut, but Cooney clinches his opponent.  Cooney is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cooney to stop fouling.

Cooney steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  Cooney attempts to land a jab, but Burns slips the shot and counters with a right hook.
