Roger Pakau vs Matt Wisely

Boxing Daily Report from the RJS Promotions promoted show at RJS Gym, North Shore,  taking place on 01/09/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Roger Pakau (0 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Matt Wisely(0 - 1) from Hamilton, New Zealand.  Both Pakau and Wisely weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joey Bridgeforth, and the three ringside judges are Chris Booth, Bryan Swineford and Oliver Ngarongomate.  

Round 1: 

Wisely gets on the inside.  Pakau pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into Wisely's ribs.  
Wisely gets on the inside.  Pakau backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Wisely accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Pakau.  
Pakau steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Pakau digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Pakau steps inside and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Pakau lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Pakau is on target with a right hook to Wisely's body.  
Pakau lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Pakau clinches his opponent.  Pakau leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Pakau lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Pakau ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pakau pushes his forearm into Wisely's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Pakau to stop fouling.

Pakau closes the distance.  Wisely sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Pakau lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Wisely sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Pakau lands a jab, left uppercut and a cross to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Wisely's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Wisely's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Wisely's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
