Ponce Sanz vs Angel Ortiz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ecuador-Pichincha promoted show at Quito Madero, Quito,  taking place on 18/10/2028:

Clearly AI Ecuador-Pichincha have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Pichincha Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ponce Sanz (9 - 9(1) - 7) who hails from Quito, Ecuador and Angel Ortiz(8 - 17(1) - 2) from Quito, Ecuador.  Both Sanz and Ortiz weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rogelio Remigio, and the three ringside judges are Hernan Alameda, Alvino Casiano and Luis Mazariegos.  

Round 1: 

Sanz is on target with a left hook.  
Ortiz connects with a left uppercut.  Ortiz tries to land a right uppercut, but Sanz slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ortiz walks Sanz down, trapping him in the corner.  Ortiz quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Ortiz steps inside and throws a right hook, but Sanz holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ortiz closes the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Sanz has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sanz's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Sanz's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
