Briar Du Jeu vs Neville Diop

Boxing Daily Report from the Danquah Promotions promoted show at Dakar Laude, Dakar,  taking place on 31/10/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Senegal-Dakar Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on RTS, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Briar Du Jeu (11 - 7 - 2) who hails from Dakar, Senegal and Neville Diop(10 - 11) from Dakar, Senegal.  Du Jeu weighed in at 140 pounds, while Diop weighed in at 139 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Reinald Mbow, and the three ringside judges are Fletcher Duras, Thibaud Ly and Geron Jacque.  

Round 1: 

Du Jeu gets on the inside.  Diop is on target with a left hook.  As Du Jeu tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Diop dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Diop pivots from in front of his opponent.  Diop throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Du Jeu steps away from his opponent.  Diop attempts to land a cross, but Du Jeu slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Du Jeu is on target with a jab.  
Du Jeu steps to the outside and connects with an overhand right.  
Du Jeu gets on the inside.  Diop connects with a left hook.

Du Jeu feints a jab, tricking Diop into throwing a right hook counter.  Du Jeu springs the trap, countering with  a right hook.  
Du Jeu advances into close range.  Diop pivots to the right of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Diop connects with a cross.  
Du Jeu closes the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Diop dabs at his face checking for damage.  Diop has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
