Jay Baston vs Nathaniel Birninkudu

Boxing Daily Report from the Wigwam Promotions promoted show at Dakar International Conference Center, Dakar,  taking place on 12/01/2029:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Western African Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jay Baston (27(15) - 1 - 1) who hails from Dakar, Senegal and Nathaniel Birninkudu(18 - 5(1) - 3) from Buguma, Nigeria.  Both Baston and Birninkudu weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Leggett Kasse, and the three ringside judges are Fletcher Duras, Brigham Maunier and Mallory Saheli.  

Round 1: 

Baston closes the distance and digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.

Birninkudu is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits the target with a spiteful jab.  Birninkudu attempts to land a jab, but Baston blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Baston closes the distance.  Birninkudu throws a left hook, but Baston ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Baston pushes his forearm into Birninkudu's face.  The referee warns Baston and breaks the clinch.

Baston tries to land a cross, but Birninkudu sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Baston closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Birninkudu is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Baston is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Baston slams a mean right uppercut into his opponents body.  DOWN GOES BIRNINKUDU!  He manages to get up at 7.  Birninkudu now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Baston gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Baston throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Baston clinches his opponent.  Baston is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Baston to stop holding.  
Birninkudu pivots from in front of his opponent.  Baston is on target with a right hook.  
Baston advances into close range.  Baston sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  As Baston tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Birninkudu dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Birninkudu feints a left, and then lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Baston drives a sharp right hook into Birninkudu's body.  
Baston attempts to land a cross, but Birninkudu sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Baston gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, DROPPING BIRNINKUDU TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  Birninkudu recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
