Xavion Mero vs Santiago Navarrete

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Puebla promoted show at Nemesio Quezada Gym, Puebla,  taking place on 02/01/2029:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Mexico Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TVC Deportes, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Xavion Mero (15 - 8(4) - 1 - 1(NC)) who hails from Puebla, Mexico and Santiago Navarrete(10 - 2 - 2) from Guadalajara, Mexico.  Both Mero and Navarrete weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Urvano Barraza, and the three ringside judges are Beltran Gardin, Xalvador Pimienta and Jesus Tierno.  

Round 1: 

Mero advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Mero clinches his opponent.  Mero is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Mero pushes his forearm into Navarrete's face.  The ref breaks Mero's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Mero forces Navarrete to retreat into a neutral corner.  Mero lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Mero ties up his opponent.  Mero leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  Navarrete recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Navarrete steps away from his opponent.  Mero is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Mero lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, KNOCKING NAVARRETE DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Mero steps inside.  Mero lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  He then lands a left hook, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body, KNOCKING NAVARRETE DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Navarrete now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
