Jake Rielly vs Corey Ardis

Boxing Daily Report from the RJS Promotions promoted show at Logan Campbell Centre, Auckland,  taking place on 20/01/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jake The Snake Rielly (6(4) - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Corey Ardis(12 - 5 - 2) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Rielly and Ardis weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Horsburgh, and the three ringside judges are Harvey Dorch, Colin Lawder and Lloyd Rease.  

Round 1: 

Rielly gets on the inside and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  
Rielly is on target with a firm right hook.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Rielly pushes his forearm into Ardis's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Rielly to stop fouling.  
Rielly lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Rielly gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Rielly closes the distance and is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Rielly lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Rielly pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ardis tries to land a cross, but Rielly blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Rielly digs in a right hook to Ardis's ribs.  Rielly ties up his opponent.  Rielly is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Rielly about fouling.  
Rielly lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Rielly throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Rielly throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  Rielly leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Rielly's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Rielly gets on the inside and lands a solid right hook.  Rielly clinches his opponent.  Rielly leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Rielly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Rielly closes the distance.  As Rielly tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ardis dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rielly lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Rielly is on target with a firm cross.  
Rielly tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rielly lands a spiteful jab.  
Rielly gets on the inside and hits home with a solid left uppercut.  
Rielly manages to force Ardis onto the ropes.  Ardis throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook to Ardis's body.  
Rielly is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Rielly is looking to close the distance and forces Ardis to back into a neutral corner.  Rielly lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Rielly throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  Rielly is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Rielly lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ardis's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Ardis's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Ardis's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Ardis's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Rielly closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  Rielly is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ardis pivots from in front of his opponent.  Rielly is on target with a cross.  
Rielly is looking to close the distance.  Rielly pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, KNOCKING ARDIS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Ardis recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ardis tries to keep the action at long range.  Rielly feints a cross, tricking Ardis into throwing a cross counter.  Rielly is waiting for the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rielly steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Rielly clinches his opponent.  Rielly is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ardis tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Rielly gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Rielly lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Rielly is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Rielly is on target with a VICIOUS left uppercut.  ARDIS IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Ardis has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Rielly advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  Rielly holds on to his opponent.  Rielly leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Rielly to stop holding.  
Rielly lands a left hook.  
Rielly drives a solid right hook into Ardis's ribs.  
Ardis connects with a cross.  
Rielly gets on the inside.  Rielly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Rielly is on target with a right hook.  Rielly ties up his opponent.  Rielly uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ardis behind the head. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Rielly to stop holding.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Rielly dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rielly steps inside and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.

Ardis recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Rielly pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Ardis recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Rielly digs in a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Rielly gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Rielly walks Ardis down, trapping him in the corner.  Rielly lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body, AND SENDS ARDIS TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Rielly!
