Valeri Merckuloff vs Boris Saparov

Boxing Daily Report from the The wright promotion promoted show at New Kingston Lemmond, New Kingston,  taking place on 30/01/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Valeri Merkalation Merckuloff (7(6) - 1(1) - 1(NC)) who hails from Bokhtar, Tajikistan and Boris Saparov(10 - 12 - 6) from Bokhtar, Tajikistan.  Merckuloff weighed in at 258 pounds And 9 ounces, while Saparov weighed in at 240 pounds And 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jordan Haldane, and the three ringside judges are John Cullom, David Duris and Alen Candlish.  

Round 1: 

Merckuloff steps to the outside and lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Saparov advances into close range.  Merckuloff pivots to the side of his opponent.  Saparov throws a left hook, but Merckuloff holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Merckuloff pushes his forearm into Saparov's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Merckuloff steps to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Merckuloff lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Merckuloff feints a left, and then finds the target with a hard jab.  Merckuloff tries to land an overhand right, but Saparov parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Merckuloff lands two overhand rights followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Merckuloff quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Merckuloff tries to land a jab, but Saparov slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Saparov closes the distance.  Merckuloff lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Merckuloff clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Merckuloff pushes his forearm into Saparov's face.  The referee warns Merckuloff and breaks the clinch.

Saparov walks Merckuloff down, trapping him on the ropes.  Saparov lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Merckuloff tries to keep the action at long range and lands a stinging jab.  
Merckuloff is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Merckuloff lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Saparov throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Merckuloff is on target with a stiff jab.  
Saparov advances into close range.  Merckuloff lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  Merckuloff ties up his opponent.  Merckuloff leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Merckuloff's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Merckuloff dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Saparov closes the distance.  Saparov pivots to the right of his opponent.  Saparov throws a left uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Merckuloff holds on to his opponent.  Merckuloff leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Merckuloff's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Merckuloff lands a straight 1 - 2.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Saparov's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.
