Ayanda Phiri vs Vuyisile Maphatsoe

Boxing Daily Report from the Rail Roaders promoted show at iBhayi Sotyu, iBhayi,  taking place on 01/03/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the South Africa-Gauteng Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ayanda Phiri (9 - 1 - 1) who hails from Boksburg, South Africa and Vuyisile Maphatsoe(2 - 7 - 1) from Katlehong, South Africa.  Both Phiri and Maphatsoe weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Wandisile Khumalo, and the three ringside judges are Ontibile Nyauza, Luvolwethu Motupa and Jake Tshipapayi.  

Round 1: 

Maphatsoe is looking to close the distance.  Phiri throws a right hook, but is not on target.  Phiri clinches his opponent.  Maphatsoe leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Maphatsoe pushes his forearm into Phiri's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Phiri hits home with a left uppercut.

Phiri tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Maphatsoe advances into close range.  Phiri throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Phiri holds on to his opponent.  Maphatsoe leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Phiri pushes his forearm into Maphatsoe's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Phiri about fouling.  
Maphatsoe advances into close range.  Maphatsoe sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Maphatsoe wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Phiri dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Phiri lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Maphatsoe's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Maphatsoe's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
