Vegas Matas vs Miguel Ceron

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Nuevo Leon promoted show at Edmundo Aja Gym, Monterrey,  taking place on 23/02/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Nuevo Leon Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vegas Matas (16(5) - 7(2) - 1) who hails from Guadalupe, Mexico and Miguel Ceron(11 - 7 - 1) from Monterrey, Mexico.  Both Matas and Ceron weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Juan Loredo, and the three ringside judges are Juan Velasquez, Baltasar Salome and Guido Castilla.  

Round 1: 

Ceron throws a right hook, but Matas holds on to his opponent.  Matas leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Matas's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Matas drives a stinging right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Matas throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Matas advances into close range.  Ceron throws a left hook, but Matas ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Matas pushes his forearm into Ceron's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Matas throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Ceron connects with a cross.  
Matas closes the distance and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.

Matas is looking to close the distance and is on target with a solid right hook to Ceron's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ceron's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Ceron's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Matas stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Ceron hits home with a sharp jab.  Ceron tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Matas is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Matas slams a hurtful left uppercut into his opponents body.  CERON IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Ceron now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Matas cuts off the ring, trapping Ceron in a corner.  Matas lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body.
