Jose Chinchilla vs Antonio Merlos

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nicaragua-Masaya promoted show at Masaya Ponce, Masaya,  taking place on 24/02/2029:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nicaragua-Masaya Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jose Chinchilla (18 - 2) who hails from Masaya, Nicaragua and Antonio Merlos(11 - 4 - 2) from Masaya, Nicaragua.  Both Chinchilla and Merlos weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jose Alvarado, and the three ringside judges are Santiago Casco, Rodrigo Colmenares and Juan Triana.  

Round 1: 

Chinchilla steps inside.  Merlos throws a right hook, but Chinchilla holds on to his opponent.  Chinchilla tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Merlos's kidney. 
Chinchilla lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Chinchilla is looking to close the distance.  Chinchilla pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Chinchilla steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Chinchilla is on target with a right hook to Merlos's body.  
Chinchilla throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Chinchilla holds on to his opponent.  Chinchilla pushes his forearm into Merlos's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Chinchilla cuts off the ring, trapping Merlos on the ropes.  Chinchilla lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Chinchilla ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Chinchilla pushes his forearm into Merlos's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Chinchilla.  
Chinchilla lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Chinchilla advances into close range.  Chinchilla lands a firm right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Merlos has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.  
Merlos steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Chinchilla closes the distance and attempts to land a left hook, but Merlos sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Chinchilla connects with a stinging left hook.  Chinchilla tries to land a jab, but Merlos blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Merlos's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Merlos's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
