Robert Cherigat vs Vul Kirui

Boxing Daily Report from the Marco Boogers promoted show at Ruiru Nkanata, Ruiru,  taking place on 02/05/2029:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Kenya-Kiambu Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Robert Cherigat (8(4) - 0) who hails from Kikuyu, Kenya and Vul Kirui(12 - 4(1) - 1) from Ruiru, Kenya.  Cherigat weighed in at 140 pounds, while Kirui weighed in at 139 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Kamande, and the three ringside judges are Max Arita, Amon Lai and Amon Lai.  

Round 1: 

Cherigat steps inside.  Kirui pivots to the left of his opponent.  Kirui attempts to land a left hook, but Cherigat sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Kirui is looking to keep his distance.  Cherigat lands with a stinging jab.  
Cherigat gets on the inside and forces Kirui to back into the ropes.  Cherigat lands a right hook.  
Cherigat throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Kirui steps away from his opponent.  Cherigat lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Cherigat finds the target with a jab.  
Cherigat advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Cherigat steps inside.  Kirui is on target with a right hook.  
The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Kirui dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cherigat walks his opponent into a corner.  Cherigat lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cherigat throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Cherigat clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Cherigat pushes his forearm into Kirui's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Cherigat lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Cherigat is on target with a stinging left uppercut.  
Cherigat is on target with a firm left uppercut.  
Cherigat closes the distance.  Kirui sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Cherigat's ribs.  
Cherigat connects with a right uppercut.  
Cherigat throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Cherigat clinches his opponent.  Cherigat is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Cherigat and breaks the clinch.  
Cherigat digs in a solid right hook to Kirui's body.  
Kirui steps to the outside.  Cherigat tries to land a cross, but Kirui blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kirui feints a left, and then finds the target with a jab.

Cherigat quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Cherigat lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Cherigat closes the distance and lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cherigat quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Cherigat throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Cherigat clinches his opponent.  Cherigat tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Kirui's kidney. Cherigat is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Cherigat pushes his forearm into Kirui's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cherigat to stop fouling.  
Cherigat drives a left uppercut into Kirui's body.  
Cherigat manages to force Kirui onto the ropes.  Cherigat digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Cherigat lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kirui switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kirui lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Cherigat steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Kirui strikes his opponents body with a jab.  Kirui tries to land a jab, but Cherigat sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cherigat lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Cherigat steps inside and connects with a stinging left hook.  
Cherigat cuts off the ring, trapping Kirui in the corner.  Kirui lands a right hook.
