Corey Veatch vs Fausto Herrera

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Kezar Pavilion, San Francisco,  taking place on 20/04/2029:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Corey Veatch (19(1) - 0) who hails from Jacksonville, USA and Fausto Herrera(13 - 8 - 2) from New York City, USA.  Both Veatch and Herrera weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noel Bertram, and the three ringside judges are Kieran Smail, Mick Gwilym and Johnny Tyree.  

Round 1: 

Veatch advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Veatch connects with a cross.  
Veatch digs in a stinging left uppercut to Herrera's liver.  
Veatch sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Herrera throws a right hook, but Veatch ties up his opponent.  Veatch pushes his forearm into Herrera's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Herrera attempts to land a jab, but Veatch sidesteps and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Veatch closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  Veatch holds on to his opponent.  Veatch is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Veatch is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Herrera throws a right hook, but Veatch clinches his opponent.  Veatch pushes his forearm into Herrera's face.  The referee warns Veatch and breaks the clinch.  
Veatch manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Veatch pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Veatch throws a left uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Veatch ties up his opponent.  Veatch uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Herrera's kidney. 
Veatch steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by two left hook's to the body.  
Herrera throws a right hook, but Veatch clinches his opponent.  Veatch leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Veatch's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Veatch advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Veatch drives a left hook into Herrera's liver.  
Veatch quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Herrera's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Herrera's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Veatch is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Veatch lands a mean left uppercut.  DOWN GOES HERRERA!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  It looks like Herrera has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Veatch is on target with a weighty left hook to his opponents liver.  HERRERA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Veatch senses Herrera is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Veatch lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body, AND DOWN GOES HERRERA!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Veatch!
