Hayden Gilbride vs Paul Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the No limit promoted show at University of Newcastle Sports Hall, Newcastle,  taking place on 01/05/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Hayden Gilbride (6(1) - 0) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Paul Maguire(10 - 14 - 1) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Gilbride and Maguire weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is George McRae, and the three ringside judges are Sid Galkin, David Corrie and Inigo Macina.  

Round 1: 

Gilbride lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Maguire throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Gilbride has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gilbride's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Maguire's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Maguire's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Maguire's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
