Bart Vert vs Zachary Myron

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Canterbury promoted show at Ray Stokes Hall, Christchurch,  taking place on 26/04/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Bart Vert (16 - 11(7)) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Zachary Myron(11 - 7 - 3) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Vert weighed in at 174 pounds and 10 ounces, while Myron weighed in at 174 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ruki Kohu, and the three ringside judges are Alen Nist, Robert Lawman and Ikei Kahu.  

Round 1:

Vert steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Vert clinches his opponent.  Vert leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Myron's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Myron's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Myron's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Vert wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Myron.  That has caused bad swelling  around the left eye.
