Colin Gove vs Chris Rice

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Civic Auditorium, San Jose,  taking place on 24/08/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Colin Gove (26(13) - 0) who hails from Long Beach, USA and Chris Rice(17 - 1) from North Las Vegas, USA.  Both Gove and Rice weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Keay, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Carra, John Vaughn and Paul Herring.  

Round 1:

Gove lands an overhand right followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Gove attempts to land a jab, but Rice slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Rice closes the distance.  Rice sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Rice switches the action to the outside.  Gove lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Gove lands two jabs followed by an overhand left to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Rice quickly recovers. 
Gove lands a solid jab.  
Rice lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gove steps to the outside.  Gove sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Rice closes the distance and manages to force Gove onto the ropes.  Gove stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Gove drives a powerful left uppercut into his opponents body.  RICE IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  Rice now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Gove strikes his opponents body with a sharp jab.  
Gove lands with a ramrod jab.  
Gove lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Gove drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Rice lands a cross.  
Rice gets on the inside and manouvers Gove onto the ropes.  Rice connects with a left hook.  
Rice gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  Gove holds on to his opponent.  Rice pushes his forearm into Gove's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rice.

He is back up on his feet at 8.  He holds his fists up but stumbles into the referee! Rice doesn't look like he's recovered at all.  The ref seems to thinks so as well...he's signalling that the fight is over!  The winner by TKO is Gove!
