Stuart Gorrie vs Clint Skeldon

Boxing Daily Report from the Kaamba Promotions promoted show at Kaamba Gym, Stamford,  taking place on 30/07/2029:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Connecticut Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Stuart Gorrie (16(1) - 0) who hails from Bridgeport, USA and Clint Skeldon(8 - 2 - 1) from Waterbury, USA.  Gorrie weighed in at 226 pounds and 6 ounces, while Skeldon weighed in at 235 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Davie Maines, and the three ringside judges are Peter Catanach, Ian Parry and Richard Cowans.  

Round 1: 

Gorrie closes the distance.  Skeldon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Skeldon throws a right hook, but Gorrie holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Gorrie pushes his forearm into Skeldon's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gorrie to stop fouling.  
Skeldon throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Gorrie lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Skeldon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gorrie lands a sharp jab.  
Gorrie closes the distance and digs in a right hook to Skeldon's body.  Gorrie ties up his opponent.  Skeldon hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Gorrie lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Gorrie holds on to his opponent.  Gorrie leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Skeldon steps away from his opponent and attempts to land an overhand left, but Gorrie sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Gorrie advances into close range and manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Gorrie lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Gorrie uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Skeldon behind the head. Gorrie throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gorrie about fouling.  
Skeldon attempts to land a right hook, but Gorrie sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook.  
Gorrie lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Gorrie lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Gorrie pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Gorrie walks Skeldon down, trapping him in the corner.  Gorrie drives a right hook into Skeldon's ribcage.  
Gorrie lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Gorrie pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gorrie lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Gorrie clinches his opponent.  Gorrie is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Gorrie lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Gorrie wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Skeldon dabs at his face checking for damage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Skeldon's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Skeldon's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Skeldon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
