Joel Vause vs Leeroy Gubay

Boxing Daily Report from the Keystone Boxing promoted show at UIC Pavilion, Chicago,  taking place on 29/10/2029:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on MSG Network, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Joel Vause (10 - 2(2) - 2) who hails from Overland Park, USA and Leeroy Gubay(15 - 17(1) - 3) from Fresno, USA.  Both Vause and Gubay weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lucas McGowan, and the three ringside judges are Max Telfer, Joe Walls and Ewan Humphries.  

Round 1: 

Vause lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Gubay connects with a cross.  
Vause switches the action to the outside and snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Vause is on target with an overhand left.  
Vause steps away from his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Vause lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Vause hits home with a spiteful jab.

Vause feints a jab, tricking Gubay into throwing a cross counter.  Vause springs the trap, countering with  a right uppercut.

Gubay closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Vause lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Gubay attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Vause time to recover.
