Rafael Mezo vs Angel Cornelio

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Argentina-Córdoba promoted show at Córdoba Parco, Córdoba,  taking place on 24/10/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Argentina-Santa Fe Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rafael Mezo (20 - 0 - 1) who hails from Rosario, Argentina and Angel Cornelio(6 - 4 - 3) from Rosario, Argentina.  Mezo weighed in at 111 pounds and 12 ounces, while Cornelio weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Olindo Rolon, and the three ringside judges are Edmundo Carnero, Neron Fama and Javier Molino.  

Round 1: 

Mezo throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mezo ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Mezo pushes his forearm into Cornelio's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mezo closes the distance and throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Mezo holds on to his opponent.  Mezo pushes his forearm into Cornelio's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mezo to stop fouling.  
Mezo digs in a stinging left hook to Cornelio's body.  Mezo clinches his opponent.  Mezo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Cornelio behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mezo about fouling.  Mezo throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Cornelio switches the action to the outside.  Cornelio quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mezo hits home with a cross.  
Mezo gets on the inside.  Mezo sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a right hook into Cornelio's ribs.  
Mezo closes the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Mezo digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Mezo lands a right uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  Mezo ties up his opponent.  Mezo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  As Mezo tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Cornelio has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Mezo lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mezo lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mezo steps inside.  Cornelio pivots to the left of his opponent.  Cornelio throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mezo is on target with a solid right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Cornelio walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Cornelio pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mezo attempts to land a cross, but Cornelio sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Cornelio pivots to the side of his opponent.  Cornelio throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to Cornelio's body.  
Cornelio switches the action to the outside.  Mezo feints a jab, and then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mezo lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mezo steps inside and lands a left hook.  
Mezo is on target with a telling right hook to Cornelio's body.  CORNELIO WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cornelio almost instantly recovers. 
Mezo is looking to close the distance.  Mezo sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mezo drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  Mezo ties up his opponent.  Mezo hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mezo to stop fouling.  
Mezo is on target with a left hook to Cornelio's ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cornelio's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Cornelio's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Cornelio sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mezo connects with a cross.  
Mezo gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mezo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Cornelio attempts to land a jab, but Mezo blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

He then lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS CORNELIO TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Cornelio now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
