Rob Paterson vs Henry Lane

Boxing Daily Report from the AI UK-Scotland promoted show at Edinburgh Gray, Edinburgh,  taking place on 01/12/2029:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Scotland Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rob Paterson (4 - 20(1) - 4) who hails from Edinburgh, UK and Henry Lane(10(4) - 1) from Dundee, UK.  Both Paterson and Lane weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Peter McAlister, and the three ringside judges are David McClarnon, Gordon Loch and Tom Crowe.  

Round 1: 

Lane steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Paterson throws a left uppercut, but Lane clinches his opponent.  Lane hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Lane about fouling.  
Lane digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Lane gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Paterson in the red corner.  Lane pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a sharp right uppercut.  
Lane lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Lane clinches his opponent.  Lane pushes his forearm into Paterson's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Lane to stop fouling.  
Lane lands a firm left uppercut.  
Lane lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Lane clinches his opponent.  Lane throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Lane's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Lane advances into close range and hits home with a right hook.  
Lane sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Paterson closes the distance.  Lane lands a left hook.  Lane holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Paterson tries to step out of his opponents range.  Lane hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Paterson steps away from his opponent.  Lane lands a cross.  
Lane lands a right hook.  Lane clinches his opponent.  Lane is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Paterson tries to step out of his opponents range.  Lane is on target with a cross.  
Lane closes the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Lane clinches his opponent.  Lane tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Paterson behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Lane.  
Lane gets on the inside and walks his opponent into a corner.  Lane lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lane dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Lane steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Lane lands a left uppercut.  
Lane lands a cross.  
Lane closes the distance and connects with a firm right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Paterson's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Paterson's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Paterson's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Paterson has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
