Joey Saam vs Peter Ardrey

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Golden 1 Center, Sacremento,  taking place on 07/03/2030:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Big Bam Saam (27(23) - 0) who hails from Cleveland, USA and Peter Ardrey(16 - 5(2) - 2) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Saam and Ardrey weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kiki Aybar, and the three ringside judges are Noel Spencer, Justin Lever and Robert Halbert.  

Round 1: 

Saam SLAMS a nasty left hook into his opponents face.  ARDREY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Saam ties up his opponent.  Saam is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Some sustained pressure from Saam could be enough to finish Ardrey!  Saam lands a VICIOUS right hook.  ARDREY HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Saam forces Ardrey to retreat onto the ropes.  Saam lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES ARDREY!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Ardrey now seems to have his senses back.  
Saam lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Saam pivots to the right of his opponent.  Saam is on target with a sharp left hook.  Saam holds on to his opponent.  Ardrey is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Ardrey throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head.

Saam attempts to land a jab, but Ardrey slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Saam lands a SAVAGE cross.  ARDREY IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 9.  
Saam is on target with a sharp cross.  
Ardrey lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a cross to the head.  
Ardrey pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ardrey hits home with a cross.  Ardrey tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Saam lands a hard jab.  
Saam throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ardrey steps to the outside.  Ardrey sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Saam gets on the inside and attempts to land a right hook, but Ardrey blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Saam finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Saam sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a solid left hook into Ardrey's liver.  
Saam throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Saam gets on the inside.  Ardrey connects with a right hook.  
Saam tries to land a left hook, but Ardrey sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Saam lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ardrey's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Saam steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Ardrey could be stopped here, if Saam can find the right shot!  Saam lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head.  Ardrey now seems to have got his legs back.  
Ardrey is on target with a left hook to Saam's body.  
Saam lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Saam attempts to land a jab, but Ardrey slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Saam gets on the inside.  Ardrey pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ardrey throws a right hook, but Saam ties up his opponent.  Saam pushes his forearm into Ardrey's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saam tries to land a left hook, but Ardrey slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Saam advances into close range.  Ardrey pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Saam closes the distance.  Ardrey attempts to land a left hook, but Saam slips the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Saam lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Ardrey walks Saam onto the ropes.  Ardrey pivots to the left of his opponent and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Ardrey lands a cross.  
Ardrey throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a spiteful left hook.  ARDREY HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE IS UNABLE TO GET UP BEFORE THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Saam!
