Leighton Thoms vs Anthony MacVicar

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ireland-Munster promoted show at Peter Lynch Gym, Limerick,  taking place on 20/01/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Irish-Munster Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leighton Thoms (14 - 10(1) - 2) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Anthony MacVicar(9 - 9(1) - 2) from Limerick, Ireland.  Both Thoms and MacVicar weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joshua Fylan, and the three ringside judges are Shamus Brogan, Patrick Hannigan and Patrick Hannigan.  

Round 1: 

Thoms manouvers MacVicar into a corner.  Thoms connects with a right hook.  
Thoms gets on the inside.  Thoms pivots to the right of his opponent.  MacVicar throws a right uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Thoms throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Thoms is looking to close the distance.  Thoms quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Thoms gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Thoms lands a left uppercut.  Thoms throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Thoms pivots to the left of his opponent.  MacVicar hits home with a right hook.  
Thoms sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  MacVicar lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
MacVicar manages to force Thoms into the corner.  Thoms lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...MacVicar's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
