Malcolm Owen vs Mark Montez

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Texas promoted show at Houston Lemmond, Houston,  taking place on 02/01/2030:

Clearly AI USA-Texas have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Texas Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Malcolm Owen (13 - 16 - 4) who hails from Dallas, USA and Mark Montez(7 - 18(1) - 4) from Austin, USA.  Both Owen and Montez weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Corey Barnes, and the three ringside judges are Amon East, Greg Speed and Leo Ovens.  

Round 1: 

Owen attempts to land an overhand right, but Montez sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.

Montez gets on the inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Montez has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

Owen tries to keep the action at long range.  Owen throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Montez to the neutral corner.  He lectures Owen but does not take away a point.
