Kris Weir vs Haru Panapa

Boxing Daily Report from the T5 Promotions promoted show at Manukau Freebairn, Manukau,  taking place on 24/02/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kris Weir (11 - 4 - 1) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Haru Panapa(12 - 11(2) - 1) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Weir weighed in at 175 pounds, while Panapa weighed in at 174 pounds And 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mason Dunning, and the three ringside judges are Clinton Martie, Declan Haturini and Joey Bridgeforth.  

Round 1: 

Panapa steps inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Weir is looking to close the distance.  Weir pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Panapa lands a cross.  
Weir is on target with a right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Weir has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Panapa steps inside.  Weir drives a left uppercut into Panapa's liver.  
Panapa is looking to close the distance.  Weir throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Panapa to the neutral corner.  He lectures Weir but does not take away a point.  
Panapa advances into close range and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Panapa hits home with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Weir's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Weir's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Panapa's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.
