Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Showtime Gym, Miami,  taking place on 21/02/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are John Balfour (3 - 0) who hails from Philadelphia, USA and Rob Leys(2 - 0) from Charlotte, USA.  Both Balfour and Leys weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Charles Griffiths, and the three ringside judges are Dave Kay, Zachary Headden and Inigo Poyner.  

Round 1: 

Leys throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.

Balfour advances into close range.  Leys connects with a right hook.  Balfour holds on to his opponent.  Balfour pushes his forearm into Leys's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Balfour to stop fouling.  
Leys drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Leys tries to land a jab, but Balfour sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Balfour closes the distance and digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Balfour connects with a right hook.

Balfour walks Leys down, trapping him in the corner.  Balfour sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a solid right uppercut to Leys's ribcage.  
Balfour digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Balfour tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Balfour digs in a left uppercut to Leys's body.  
Balfour throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Balfour clinches his opponent.  Balfour hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Balfour throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Balfour ties up his opponent.  Balfour is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Balfour's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Balfour lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Balfour manouvers Leys into a neutral corner.  Balfour connects with a right uppercut.  Balfour tries to land a right hook, but Leys blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Balfour digs in a sharp right hook to Leys's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Leys's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Leys's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Leys's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
