Eric McNeely vs Matt McKenzie

Boxing Daily Report from the Kings promoted show at Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield,  taking place on 11/05/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the British-Central England Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Eric McNeely (17(11) - 0 - 1) who hails from Derby, UK and Matt McKenzie(18 - 11(4) - 4) from Wolverhampton, UK.  McNeely weighed in at 146 pounds And 14 ounces, while McKenzie weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Owen Wallace, and the three ringside judges are John Magee, Ewan Sprout and Robert Wathen.  

Round 1: 

McNeely sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a sharp right hook to McKenzie's body.  
McNeely digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  McNeely clinches his opponent.  McNeely is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McNeely lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

McNeely advances into close range and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
McNeely lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
McNeely throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  McNeely holds on to his opponent.  McNeely is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

McNeely sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body, AND SENDS MCKENZIE SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  McKenzie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
McNeely steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  McNeely clinches his opponent.  McNeely leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McNeely pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a stinging right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
McNeely lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
McNeely manouvers McKenzie into the blue corner.  McKenzie tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
McNeely lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
McNeely gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  McNeely holds on to his opponent.  McNeely leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks McNeely's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McKenzie's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McKenzie's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McKenzie's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McNeely leans on his opponent using all his weight. McNeely throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McNeely lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
McNeely gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  
McNeely lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  McNeely clinches his opponent.  McNeely is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

McNeely gets on the inside.  McNeely lands a cross to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body, AND SENDS MCKENZIE TO THE CANVAS!  The ref does not even bother with the count...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is McNeely!
