Chris Pettigrew vs Corbin Fignon

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Pavillon de Juenesse, Quebec City,  taking place on 11/05/2030:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Chris Pettigrew (6(4) - 0) who hails from Linden, Guyana and Corbin Fignon(4 - 0) from Montreal, Canada.  Pettigrew weighed in at 135 pounds, while Fignon weighed in at 133 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Stephen Morton, and the three ringside judges are Varocher Painchaud, Henry Popkin and Mark Mostyn.  

Round 1: 

Pettigrew quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Fignon tries to land a jab, but Pettigrew sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Pettigrew is on target with a hard jab.  
Fignon gets on the inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Fignon tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a spiteful right uppercut.  FIGNON IS HURT!  Fignon quickly recovers. 
Fignon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Pettigrew tries to land a right hook, but Fignon blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Fignon forces Pettigrew to back into the ropes.  Pettigrew lands a jab to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a cross to the head.  
Fignon steps to the outside.  Pettigrew lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Pettigrew lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pettigrew steps away from his opponent and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Pettigrew lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Pettigrew is looking to force the stoppage!  Pettigrew lands two left uppercuts to the body, and one to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut, cross and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Fignon now seems to have got his legs back.  
Fignon is looking to close the distance and lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Fignon pivots to the left of his opponent.  Pettigrew lands a mean right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE FIGNON WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Pettigrew clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Pettigrew pushes his forearm into Fignon's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Pettigrew tries to step out of his opponents range.  Pettigrew senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Fignon and just needs the right shot.  Pettigrew lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND FIGNON IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Pettigrew!
