Joaquin Tabares vs Xaverius Maya

Boxing Daily Report from the Boomer Promotions promoted show at Havana Gonzalez, Havana,  taking place on 16/04/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Joaquin Tabares (4(1) - 0 - 1) who hails from Camaguey, Cuba and Xaverius Maya(3 - 3) from Havana, Cuba.  Both Tabares and Maya weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Beltran Diaz, and the three ringside judges are Reyes Amaro, Luis Cruz and Diego Villas.  

Round 1: 

Tabares lands a left hook to the head, a cross to the head and a right uppercut to the body.

Tabares advances into close range and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Tabares holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Tabares pushes his forearm into Maya's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Tabares about fouling.  
Tabares steps away from his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Tabares lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Tabares gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Maya forces Tabares to back into the corner.  You can sense Maya is getting frustrated in there.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref separates the two fighters and tells Maya to keep his punches up.  He gives Tabares a few minutes to recover.

Tabares switches the action to the outside and lands a jab.

Tabares cuts off the ring, trapping Maya in a corner.  Tabares pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a FEROCIOUS right hook.  
The right shot from Tabares could be enough to force the stoppage!  Tabares lands a cross to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head, KNOCKING MAYA DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Tabares!
