Connor Ainsley vs Richie Briar

Boxing Daily Report from the GAT Management promoted show at Bob Guertin Arena, Gaineau,  taking place on 10/06/2030:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Network, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Connor Ainsley (16(1) - 1) who hails from Quebec City, Canada and Richie Briar(14 - 11(2) - 1) from Buffalo, USA.  Both Ainsley and Briar weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Erec Adore, and the three ringside judges are Olier Paradis, Henry Popkin and Nicholas Prior.  

Round 1: 

Ainsley lands a jab, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.

Briar stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Ainsley throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Briar steps inside and walks Ainsley down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ainsley digs in a right hook to Briar's body.  Ainsley holds on to his opponent.  Ainsley pushes his forearm into Briar's face.  The referee warns Ainsley and breaks the clinch.

Ainsley tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Briar's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Briar's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
