Rocco Palagi vs Rob Maffett

Boxing Daily Report from the Jason Phillips promoted show at New York City Hewitson, New York City,  taking place on 02/05/2030:

Clearly Jason Phillips have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-New York State Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rocco Palagi (13 - 12(1) - 3) who hails from New York City, USA and Rob Maffett(15 - 10 - 2) from New York City, USA.  Both Palagi and Maffett weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Nabor, and the three ringside judges are Dom Kilgour, Richard Sateriale and Diego Enrique.  

Round 1: 

Palagi closes the distance.  Palagi sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Palagi throws a left hook, but misses the target.  Palagi holds on to his opponent.  Maffett leans on his opponent using all his weight. Palagi throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Palagi about fouling.  
Palagi closes the distance.  Maffett quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Palagi is on target with a left uppercut.  
Maffett gets on the inside and connects with a right uppercut.  
Maffett pivots to the right of his opponent.  Palagi connects with a right hook.  
Maffett tries to land a left hook, but Palagi sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Maffett throws a left hook, but Palagi holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Palagi pushes his forearm into Maffett's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Maffett's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Maffett's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
